The creation of humanity was God's plan, and it is by His will that we exist. He has granted talents to each individual to live a life in line with His master plan in order to reveal his kingdom. Everyone who is born of His Spirit and has the within is called His child. God is the sole creator and heavenly artist. Each artist is gifted with an extraordinary sense of art to be used to worship God through artistic creations.

Gifted artists grow and develop spiritually and express their love to God and to others. At the same time, artists must continually strive to achieve technical mastery as well as thematic development carrying the quality of their work to a high level.

Artists who follow Christ and who share a similar perspective on art can join together in one organization with the purpose of healping each other to grow spiritually and to celebrate the creative aspect with which we are endowed. The aim of the organization is thus both enhance the clarity of christian expression through artistic means and to empower artists to share the Gospel with the world.

The Bali Christian Art Association (BCAA) was founded on January 19, 2003. BCAA arrages exhibition and conferences, networks, publishes books, and trains the next generation of artists.

Charis (from the Greek for gift or grace) is an international traveling exhibit of work by 7 Asian and 7 North American artists that explores the implications of Christian faith and effective artistic practice in an increasingly visually-oriented world where the convergence of cultures is the norm rather than the exception. As the outgrowth of the artists’ participation in a two-week immersive seminar in Indonesia during the summer of 2008 the exhibit represents the ongoing dialogue of these artists on the challenges of cross-cultural communication and understanding, and the need for people of faith to address real-world issues of social justice, peace and reconciliation, and the effects of globalization wherever one lives. Our members (Ni Ketut Ayu Sri Wardani and Erland Sibuea) are involved in this exhibition. For detail, please visit the site: http://www.calvin.edu/nagel/projects/charis/
